                The song: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uetgk7…

"Dai-chan, don't be so stubborn. Let's go have some lunch!"
"Leave me alone, Satsuki. I'll just wait here for you, I'm tired."

The pink haired girl sighed, shaking her head in a hopeless gesture. Shrugging, she left to the mall. She tried her best to take Aomine out of his stupid misery, but he would rather stay there and drown in it. So be it.

Aomine sighed and watched as Satsuki disappeared. He fell on the nearest bench and leaned against the wall. He was so tired. Of what? Even though he has been training more regurarly now, it couldn't say he was physically tired. It was his mind. So much had happen on those two months, he just wanted to sleep over everything.

Suddenly, you came to his thoughts. He had already slept over that matter one hundred times and it still hurt. What could he do to erase you from his mind? It had been two months already since you left him and it still messed with his head.

Aomine took a deep breath and leaned forward, his head in his arms. If only he could turn back time, he would try his best. He would... your sweet laugh invaded his thoughts. He shut his eyes tight, trying to suppress it, but... it was not in his head.

He looked around, frowning, until he found you. There you were, walking to the park, looking as beautiful as always. Your hair was loose, a thin layer of make up on your face and a summer dress on your body. There you were, looking as happy as he should've made you when he had the chance.

There he was... by your side.
Their eyes looking at each other...

Aomine tried his best to suppress the anger he was feeling, trying to remember you had no choice but to leave him. His mind was telling him it was all his fault, that he had multiple opportunities to show you he loved you, and he missed them.

But his heart wasn't listening.
and one pair of remaining eyes

You said something, your sweet voice bringing back memories of the times you went to the roof, trying to convince him to go to practice but ended up staying there with him, laughing and telling him stories about your favorite books.

Oh, you really look happy, really look happy
When I see you like that, so beautiful, it's sad

You laughed again, while the boy by your side mimicked you, shaking his head and touching your hand. Touching your hand. Aomine bit his lip, trying to contain the disgust he was feeling. He wanted to stand up and rip you out of those filthy arms, but... where they really filthy? Because those hateful arms where making you smile again.

Aomine sighed, admitting to himself he couldn't hate the guy. How could he? After all, he was doing something he hadn't been capable of, so Aomine couldn't hate him.

I don't hate him.
Because he makes you smile like an angel.

You blushed a bit, your hand on his. Aomine remembered how you used to blush like that everytime he touched you, hugged you, kissed you. When you said you loved him for the first time, you were blushing like that, like an adorable creature.

Oh, oh, yeah. Words that became a secret before I said them.
That's why I wasn't for you.

Aomine remembered how many times he wanted to tell you he loved you back, and how many times his stubbornness stopped him. How many times he made you cry because you wanted to go on dates, you wanted to spend time together, you wanted him to love you back and he wasn't able to speak. He did love you, but he was dumb enough not to show you or to tell you.

Aomine's heart accelerated when he noticed the guy was leaning to kiss you.

Two pairs of eyes looking at each other and the other pair, which is lost.
Two pairs of eyes slightly shut and the other pair which is late, which had lost you.

And there he sat, without moving an inch, watching you lock your lips with another man.
Aomine couldn't move a muscle. Two reasons. One, he was hurt, he was so sorry he wouldn't dare ruin your life again. He was too embarrassed to even appear in front of you again, he didn't want to make you miserable again. And the other reason was because he knew you were meant to be happy.

And if he had to see you both everyday, kissing and laughing in exchange of your smile, he would.

I'm becoming more and more sorry, looking at you with these kind of feelings.

Aomine finally took a deep breath and leaned back again, closing his eyes. He felt your eyes finally spotting him, but he didn't open his. He knew he would see hurt in your beautiful eyes, and no way he wanted to delete your laughing face from his mind.

He would rather save the thought of you laughing, even if it was for another man, than see how you looked at him now. He put his arms behind his head and pretended he was falling asleep, still feeling your gaze.

At least from far away, at least in my heart, I will warmly shine on you.

The only thing Aomine could do now was to change. To make someone happy, to change for you and to change for him. To change his ways of seeing love, to start seeing love as a two-side story. You would be proud of him, he knew it.

Even though you wouldn't be his princess anymore, you would be proud, and he would always keep you in his heart. The lost pair of eyes closed and searched for happy thoughts to start a new page of the book.
This is me trying to write some sad fic.
I SUCK AT THIS, I LIKE HAPPY ENDINGS.
Still, I love this song, so... I had to do something.
Okay, go easy on me on this one, I'm not the best at writing sad stuff (T^T)

I do not own anything, but the plot. The image, I found it here: akashiis.tumblr.com/tagged/fav…
